Thank you for completing our Lockn' arrival survey - we wanted to get back to you in regards to your inquiry about arrival on Friday. The steeplechase campgrounds are also reserved for VIP guests but this campground will be the first to fill up. Since you are arriving on Friday, you are more likely to be placed in the other VIP campground in the race track. However when you check-in you can ask if there is space available in steeplechase.

in a subsequent email she told me that those arriving Thursday can try asking to be placed in the field rather than the hill, but
since a different company handles that aspect, no guaranty. Can't hurt to ask, esp. if a lot of people request it, or even better,
ask Lockn admin in advance (rather than CID) and ask them a lot. If the gate keepers don't get authority in advance to split up the
crowd, it won't happen.

Our discussion proves the point: among those of us paying extra--a lot extra--for VIP benefits, there are opposite preferences for the
"better" place to be. You want the field; I want the hill. Seems they can easily accomodate both, and feel free to pass this along to
support your request.

Or we can trade Friday morning....

Tent-only is included with VIP ticket purchase.

My lady and I are doing VIP RV this year. We are in our mid-50's and will be in a 26' Tioga Montara MH. Not walking too far and we want AC and a toilet!!!. VA tags, flags, lights on the flag pole. 9 days...

This will be our last festival for a long time.  We decided to "screw the pooch" and purchase SVIP...not that we are the "Drysdales"  or the 1%..we are just older and hoped that this would provide an easier experience regarding travelling back and forth to the stages and the RV and a viewing area where one isn't trampled or pushed and shoved.  I have a hard enough time seeing the stage since I am height challenged, and each year I seem to get a little shorter.  My companion is a frail individual who always seems to get the brunt of a push or shove or beer bath while attending the shows, so I hope this eliminates those situations.  I have traveled solo to a lot of shows, always GA, never had too much problem, it's when we travel as a couple that things occur.  

Any advice about what time to arrive on Thursday.  Is the SVIP going to be on a hill, this could be a problem due to his mobility, and from the map that was posted here, how does one proceed from the checkin point to the sites?

This year will be interesting with all VIP car camping in the inner circle on the field. I'm not sure how I feel about it yet. I've been on the hill 2 years in a row. I kind of liked being able to sit outside my tent and see /hear the music from my site. Oh well. I'm sure it's all for the best somehow. 

There is zero shade / trees in any of the VIP / SIP camping areas. 

You can bet security will be tighter again this year to keep festival goers in their respective areas.

I did SVIP last & am doing it this year. It's on the other side from last year So I'm not sure about the hill. I was over that way a couple of times & it did seem like there was a hill back from the flat spot. Once you get thru the check point they will direct you to the site. I'm also older & not in the best heath so the perks you get really helped me out last year. I think you'll do fine. The walk from the stage to my campsite was less than 5 min & I'm slow. On the map if you look across the field where ADA is, that's were we were last year. Welcome to the board. Hope you can make the meetup.

  Thanks for the information mosagra and waycha. I do tend to get anxious about things running smoothly. The hill concerns me because our RV does not have leveling devices.  We went with the cheap model and I kinda miss the pull behind because that one had levelers. What is this meet up you speak of?
