Thanks! Have been following this bored for a while now but decided to join to let you people know about what I noticed. This is the official poster for Bob Weir's current tour. You can see that the Geo tag on the IG post being from Austin City Limits Live, the location of his last tour date. You can't fake from where you're posting something from, so it seems legit.  
Don't know if any of you have seen his campfire shows but I loved them. With Bobby playing at a slower tempo nowadays he's giving the songs a new spin. It's more country/western mixed with an exploratory 'The National' sound. Like "Standing on the Moon" feels more like your driving though the Mojave Desert with this band rather then when the Dead played it and you felt like you were floating above the Earth.

I'm not so all in for the Campfire band. Can't say I've done a lot of listening, but haven't been all that excited by what I have heard.

Of course it is Bobby and I will have a good time listening to him.

I should have more confidence in my predictions. See The National does make sense at Lockn, just with Bobby leading.

Seeing campfire band tomorrow night at one of my favorite venue's and we got a free cd with the tickets.  The CD isn't bad by any means, but definitely hope to get a good mix like that tomorrow night.

I've been a fan of Josh Ritter's songs for a long time, so I was excited to hear he was collaborating with Weir on the album. I'm sure it's stuff I will like.

On another downer note, according to this article (check the bottom), Bob Weir is scheduled to play in Arrington (of course), but it indicates it will NOT be with the Campfire Band: www.backstage360.com/bob-weir-continues-tour-campfire-band-perform-lockn-festival/

Not sure if it's his most popular or not, but I really like his "Animal Years" album.  Check it out if interested.  Really mellow stuff.

While Weir is confirmed to play with Phil on 8/25 there seems to be some unconfirmed intel that BW and the Campfire Band will also play. My gut says that this is very likely. One thing for sure...we will know by late sunday on 8/27 if BW and the CFB are performing...

An announcement of a drop out is not good business.  Promotion is all positive, with occasional damage control (Weir dropping out of L2) when warranted.

My guess is JJ got a better offer--which may be more than just another gig with more money (or less expenses, same thing), but a series of gigs.

Thanks for posting this. I've been listening to LOCKN' 2017 playlist on Spotify that Lockn' put together. It has 8+ hours of music.

TTB announced a few more dates in TX towards the end of September with Hard Working Americans, their tour has a scheduled break right around Lockn. Is TTB still a possibility??
