I love you guys. Mainly because this shit ain't going down until August and the enthusiasm here is great. I am good with the list till now, gonna go ahead and call Alabama Shakes as my headliner of choice. I got my MMJ life goal last year, I am not greedy. I'll be there either way.

Lack of TTB is a disappointment to be sure. I don't see them in a subsequent announcement, either. That said, I am MORE than satisfied with this initial lineup. Like TOO, I can just put my feet up and relax. Like chinatownshuffle, you'll find no complaint from me.

A more or less classic Lockn lineup, and some new faces too. Happy 5th anniversary, everyone!

Oh, and I'm more than happy to move over and let tatanka be the forum's Grump-Who-Isnt-Bill, too.

I would think any additional announcements outside the R2L bands will have to include some kind of classic rock act and then what else? Is there room for much more?

Although quality is a slippery word. You could put Marcus King Band in a headliner spot and I'd be thrilled. They are that good. Won't happen and wouldn't make sense from a marketing standpoint.

If you compare to last year where ween was Thurs head liner then moe can close the festival. i.e. ween is to moe as seedy mex is to sour diesel.

Correction to my earlier post. There were 37 slots not including the dj logic sets. We currently have 23 slots filled. Just in case anyone had doubts that there would be more coming, seems like we may have quite a bit.

This is what I was hoping for....I assumed Phil x2 so these were the lineups that I would have liked. Terrapin Family band is pretty weak in my opinion. Seen them a couple of times and while I enjoyed myself at the time the play back let much to be desired. I guess the Q could still happen. I also assumed that WSP would be there and in the past there was mention of them doing a tribute to the Band. Honestly I'm not that thrilled with the lineup thus far. Nothing big like the MD&E > JA.

I just wish they could have this kind of undercard with the type of headliners of last year. Sadly it seems like it's one or the other.

Indeed, in looking at the past years that I attended, L2 and L3, I realize that many of the bands that I enjoyed most were not the ones that they brought back this year. Seems like this wave of announcements was a 'back to our roots'. I think that there will be a good number more to come, just hoping for some bands that are more to my liking.

I will say that I do like this announcement method. I'm not sure it is the best as far as spurring ticket sales to announce headliners later than everything else, but it definitely makes more sense than one band a day.
