I know you VIPs like your separation from the scourge. Having to walk around the back of the crowd to switch stage views in years past wasn't that bad imo.
Excited as hell now that July is here and it is actually next month.

Umphrey's had their own light rig there last year. I realize this was made easier by the fact that they were playing the Blue Ridge stage, but the fact remains.
I'm no technical expert with these kind of things, but it seems like they'd be able to figure it out since Phish is the last act on the nights they play. I'm pretty sure they used their own lights when they've played festivals like Bonnaroo in the past.

But yeah, the more I think about it I agree that it probably won't be the full-scale rig that Phish is touring with right now, probably not possible. I bet they add something to the lights that everyone else is using though to make it seem more extravagant. I don't think they would bring in their light rig for all of the bands to use the whole fest, but their lighting guy Chris Kuroda has done a lot of fests and stuff in the past, so it wouldn't be out of the question for him to be there the whole weekend. Although I'd think if that were the case it would have been known by now, but maybe not considering the way everything has gone.

Phish really only plays one size venue...large...where they are probably using 30+ semi loads (although stadium versus amphitheater tours can vary loads greatly). Maybe they pair it down to a couple unique components since Lockn' is not in the middle of a bunch of tour dates, but I too find it unlikely we will see Phish's full light array at Lockn. Today's programming (computers and shit) makes things easier to share, but a festival sets up in a universal fashion so each band can easily work with the equipment and technology. Phish's system probably has some unique quarks (thus making it cooler) that would not be inviting to everyone to just "plug in to".

Doesn't really matter, it's just something to discuss while we wait forever for announcements.

FYI, Kuroda (the guy who does Phish's lights) is considered by many to be the "fifth member" of the band. The music and the lights are very interactive for many of their songs.
So that's why it matters.

So that answers some of the speculation about goings-on between the Phish acts. The alternative, a dark stage intermission, seems unlikely.
Now we just need to know who will be behind door #2 ("My hold world lies waiting....")

Y'all can tell me that I'm gonna like Phish and MMJ and fancy light shows all you want. It's like salmon for me. I don't like salmon. People tell me I've just never have good salmon. But I HAVE had good salmon. And it still tastes like salmon. And I don't like salmon. I also don't care for Phish, MMJ or overdone light shows.
Different stroke for different folks, you know.
