Avetts are now another chance to see Bob do that thing he does. More so it gives me a chance to see a band that I am somewhat familiar with play some Dead. I always like to see someone else's interpretation of the songs I love.

Kid starting middle school is a legit reason to skip out on Bob & the Avetss tho. After moe of course. And I am really intrigued by Phil.moe. It is either going to be transcendent or an ill conceived train wreck. You should be able to tell after the first few chords. And congrats on getting a kid all the way thru to middle school.

Thanks, have one in high school as well. If there was something bigger Sunday, I would stay. Of course, my BAC might change those plans.

My youngest graduates high school tomorrow and moves into her dorm at VCU the Sunday before Lockn (could not have timed that better). My oldest will be rolling in with his own crew (three can be a crew right?) from Indy for his first Lockn so I'm pretty excited about that. I do remember those middle school days and they go by so fast...

That's great you are having your son and crew with you. At L2 my sister and BIL had both of their daughters at Lockn but she and the youngest left Saturday morning to move her in to W&L and then my sister returned. They left a stawag loaded with the move-in gear in day parking--lots of logistics but they all suffer from FOMO and got a good kick-off for school!

They will all be there this year, too.

When you go to do drop off at VCU (surprisingly organized), do your taste buds a favor and have a family style Italian dinner at Edo's Squid. It's on Harrison between Grove and Grace. As you head up the stairs you will think uh oh this doesn't seem right but once you open the door all is good. Reasonable wait for lunch, but even with reservations you could wait an hour to be seated for dinner on the weekends.

A very short walk from campus.
