Any other solo travels? First time going to Lockn' festival

Hoping i meet some buddies and make friends with others in the same position as me? like i said it will also be my first time there. ill be traveling from california but first be stopping in NY to visit family, then fly down to the DC area/Charlottesville area and - havent figure out how ill get up to the festival yet, hitch a ride with someone probably, which is also the reason im looking to meet some people  - plus, im not looking  to be alone the whole trip. if anyone is a similar situation, let me know! or if anyone has a ride is willing hitch on one more to their clan, wouldn't mind that either - I bring good vibes and $ for gas

though I can't help with transportation, I went solo last year and loved it. I did have a horde of friends and family but they were not camping near me and we didn't hang together the whole time. I made friends with the people camping near me (hint: lure them in by cooking bacon in the morning) and found the people there easy to hang out with. Very friendly crowd.

I was solo last year and this year also. It was my first fest of this kind. Traveled from Utah. Met lots of good peeps. Boogied my ass off! And I'm in my 50's. Camped in the forest. Picked a spot and my neighbor cracked me a beer and helped me set up my tent. Then we smoked a bowl! Welcome to the Family! See you in the forest!!!

Nice!! Man the more I think about it the more I am excited!
I'm coming from the Bay Area (San Jose, California). I'll only be coming with as much as I can take on my back, so I'm not too sure about the bacon part!! I'll need to pack the bare minimum, since I'll still be carrying a tent, sleeping bag, and matt. I'm hoping I'll be able buy most of my food there - Whatever I can bring on my back is coming!  Other travelers that went solo also told me they had no problem meeting people - I'm pretty sure I'll get some good neighbors when I set up my camp site!

Would love to come to any meet ups! Let me know guys!

Hey man, my name is Tyler. I will also be riding solo at Lockn. I bought one ticket for me with no one to go with haha. None of my friends can afford a ticket now. Not that this is a problem. I have gone to festivals alone before and made tons of friends, but it's always more fun to have someone to kick it with. With a lineup like that, I was determined to go with or without anyone else, haha!

I live in DC and I will probably be driving to Lockn late Wednesday night or early Thursday morning. I saw on another post that you may need a ride from the airport. When do you fly in? Which airport?

I have a 4 day, full event, tent camping pass that allows me to camp by my vehicle. You are welcome to camp with me too if you want. Maybe we can even split a case of beer, a bottle, etc? Haha

If you still need a ride and a new festi friend, let me know brother man!

I went solo last year and met some pretty cool peeps. You should check out the forum meet up. That's what I did and ran into many of the people over the whole weekend. Im going solo again this year. Being by yourself can be fun, but at the same time a little lonely.

I'm going solo this year. I'm looking for a ride also. figured a lot more people in my area would going. I'm excited, never been to a music festival before, but I figured this lineup was too good to miss. And it helps my birthday is that Saturday.
