Welcome to the Lockn' Forum - The home of the original Lockn' Music Festival family!
No, I'm not British. And don't even care much for Fleetwood Mac so I don't know why I chose to spell the subject header that way. But I digest... So after having a blast at Lockn' this year I didn't hesitate to buy my 'Lumni ticket. And I am eagerly looking forward to next year already despite not knowing any of the line-up. Which brings us to the whole point of this thread. Anyone heard any rumors, hopeful speculation, or just gut feelings about next year's line-up? I don't mean who you WANT to be there, but who you think and/or have heard will be there. I know SCI and WSP have been there every year, so is it looking likely we can expect to see them again? I'm talkin' three sets of Cheese including "The [insert name of artist you didn't know was still alive] Incident" as well as two sets of Panic, including special guest(s)? I'm sure, God willing, Phil will be there as well as Billy. Perhaps Mickey and Bob will show up as well. Derek and Susan seem to be regulars. Are they gonna be gutsy and attempt to create something as mind-blowing as that Mad Dogs set? C'mon, people, I am jonesin' here. Give me what you got. It doesn't have to be remotely true. As would be some of the original Grateful Dead (Mickey was new this year, right?). Kreutzman seems to enjoy himself.
Warren Haynes is a regular so he'll be there with someone, too.
Since this isn't about who we want/don't want I won't say AFAIAC they can just leave Phil home next year; he doesn't play well with others, two years in a row. Anyway he's just a bass player who can't sing.
Look for some New Orleans brass, if history repeats, among the second/third tier acts.
But my money bets that there will be little, if any, bluegrass/folk on the main stage (betting on odds, not wants).

I just love it when someone feels the same way I do about Lockn in general and the MD&E set in particular.

I am guessing before Christmas we will get the following acts announced: WSP, SCI, Keller Williams, TTB.
I am good with Phil. The Santana set was a bit disappointing, but the Phil Robinson Brotherhood set was awesome.

His Planet Drum CD got me through grad school, I had it on in the background while studying. It kept my energy up without interrupting my thoughts, no lyrics after all.

I believe not the first year, as I don't believe the festival was announced until spring time for the inaugural. I do not know about the second year, as I was not following Lockn closely enough at that time. I am only really sure of last year, that there was. Perhaps somebody who followed it more closely the first and second year can answer more definitively.

Was on the floor for Dead & Company in DC. This show was 10 times better than any dead based band I've seen at lockn and 50 times better then any Phil and Friends show I've seen in the last decade or more. It would be a shame if they only play this tour together. Also I really think they can continue to sell out arenas. Verizon was going nuts and seemed very full. They threw down and there was no holding back by anyone.
Also, for some reason I loooooveeed Mickey's trippy electronic woodsy thing last year, really hoping for that again.

If (and he probably will) Phil comes I hope he doesn't get a main stage spot. Dead and Co would please me greatly. We didn't get a tour out here where they forgot where they were from which has myself and a lot of my friends bummed so it would be nice to see them at Lockn when I'm out east. And yes, Warren, Warren, Warren!!!

I honestly don't get the Phil hate. based on his ongoing business relationship with Peter Shapiro, I expect him to have two spots on the main stage, including one headliner slot. I think he is just fine with the right set of friends (and maybe contrary to what is posted above, that means no Warren). PhilRAD or Phil Robinson Brotherhood or Phil Trucks Band or something like that would be great.
Dead and Co. would be great.

Yes to Phil & whatever Friends (As southern pointed out, Phil's relationship to peter Shapiro almost guarantees that and phil won't travel for less than 2 prime time spots.)
Yes to Billy & the Kids with Bob & Mickey if Dead & Co are a no go.
Yes to Mickey doing whatever kind of weirdness he wants to off in the woods.
But HELL YES to JRAD.
Yes, I want my cake, donuts, pie, Danish etc and to eat them too.
