My story as it relates to this forum:
Some of you may remember me--I am the forumite formerly known as "snyooterdynck." I joined prior to Lockn' '14 to get some basic info about the festival. Had I known I would stick around for years and develop friendships, to the point I have run into several of you at shows, I would have picked something that made me feel less idiotic to say out loud. Time will tell of course, but I feel "moose" will rectify that problem.
The reason I left the forum was that I started to get concerned that I was spending way too much money on shows and traveling to shows. Let's face it, if there is a great show happening somewhere, this forum will cover it. I felt that constantly reading other forumite's plans to attend any given show was influencing me to spend more than necessary, and that making a clean break would help me make better financial decisions.
However, after booking multiple 3-night Widespread Panic runs (plus hotel) as well as multiple nights of Phish (including Toronto) (plus hotel) and Dead & Company (plus hotel), I realized maybe this forum isn't to blame. It's gonna happen either way, so I may as well associate myself with like-minded people.
Distance traveling to Lockn': 175 miles
My thoughts on the 2019 Line-up:
Personally I think the line-up as a whole is pretty underwhelming. I can't justify spending what they are asking to attend the entire festival, but Friday is looking good enough to make the trip for if and when they sell single day tickets. Which means if I can get my tired old arse out of bed early enough, I should be there on time for the meet & greet.
Most excited for (Friday): TAB with Derek
If I could add one artist to Lockn' it would be: The Claypool Lennon Delirium
Prior festival experience: every Lockn' since L2, High Sierra, Wanee, Hulaween, Delfest
Last concert attended: Spafford
