The best thing about this announcement is that molo and sless will be present at the festival....making the odds of getting The Q together a lot better then they were yesterday. Personally as long as it's not Phil with CRB again I will not complain haha. Things are shaping up nicely...I can't wait for August.

Antibalas was good when I saw them at B'roo in 03? 04? I bet they still are. Closely aligned with Dap Kings and Charles Bradley. I found this interesting...
Though recognized for their fluency in Afrobeat and funk music, the band is known to collaborate with diverse groups and artists, from Angélique Kidjo to Jovanotti to Medeski Martin & Wood to Public Enemy, and served as the house band at Carnegie Hall in 2014 (Music of Paul Simon), 2015 (Music of David Byrne & Talking Heads) and this year's 2017 Music of Aretha Franklin.
The Antibalas horn section has performed on Grammy award-winning albums by Angelique Kidjo, and Mark Ronson and dozens of albums, sound tracks and live guest appearances with artists including The Roots, My Morning Jacket, TV on the Radio, Santigold, Jovanotti, Nneka, Alabama Shakes, The String Cheese Incident and numerous others.

Hiss Golden Messenger is great and they can really jam when they let loose. Gotcha, was just going on the "Plus More Tomorrow" tag. Hard to imagine there's enough more bands to stretch it all the way until then. Then there is this....Sinkane (born Ahmed Gallab in London, England) is a musician who blends krautrock, prog rock, electronica, free jazz and funk rock with Sudanese pop. He is signed to DFA Records.
Born to college professors in London, he lived in Sudan, then moved to the US when he was five, and lived for some time in Kent, Ohio followed by Columbus, Ohio. Prior to embarking on his solo career, he worked with Eleanor Friedberger, Caribou, of Montreal, Born Ruffians, and Yeasayer as a session musician.
Ahmed Gallab is the Band Leader and Music Director of the Atomic Bomb! Band which plays the music of Nigerian Electro-Funk Legend William Onyeabor. The group includes David Byrne (of Talking Heads), Money Mark (of the Beastie Boys), Damon Albarn (of Blur and Gorillaz), Dev Hynes (aka Blood Orange and Lightspeed Champion), Alexis Taylor (of Hot Chip), Charles Lloyd, Amadou and Mariam, Jamie Lidell, Pharoah Sanders, Joshua Redman, among many many others.
Really interesting sound. Not sure it is 100% up my alley, but I will be happy to hear it at Lockn.

Right, well, I don't suppose we will be 7 more bands every day. Undoubtedly a couple days of that will be collabs and such.

I don't like "world beat" so maybe they will play late night out in the woods somewhere. Nor do I like electronica or prog. But as long as there's enough to go around and everyone is happy, I'm happy!
I did, however, thoroughly enjoy Robert Plant's accompaniment from South Africa and the vibe he brought, similar to what Paul Simon brought to "Graceland".

I'm intrigued by some of these (and NOT by others). Looking forward to it even more, now. Collaboration opportunities are growing.
That said, this isn't a ticket-selling announcement like I was expecting. I still think we're going to see one.

While I think that the odds of the Q are growing with the addition of Molo, Sless was never a part of this band. The only one missing is Barraco.

While I think that the odds of the Q are growing with the addition of Molo, Sless was never a part of this band. The only one missing is Barraco.
Yeah I tried to make those two separate thoughts sorry for the confusion I'm just a fan of sless so wanted to include him in the post about molo. I would never step on warrens or jimmys toes I know better haha
