Beer hydrates better than pure water because it has electrolytes. But I wouldn't recommend drinking distilled water either.

I’m ready to hydrate! I’ve already started stocking up on the electrolytes, in fact. My local supermarket had a special last weekend- 8-packs of the 20-oz Gatorades for $2.97. Pretty good deal, with summer concert season and Lockn’ coming up! There was a limit of 2, but it’s a start. Time to start looking out for those bargains.

Hmmmm.
Not sure what to make of this--especially the likes....
Let it be written that I take credit for the craft beer exchange aspect of the event. Before L2 the topic was "good canned beer since we can't bring bottles" which led to a nation-wide discussion of local beers and then my suggestion that we all bring a 6 or so of our hometown brew (or in Worf's case, homebrew). We also had fresh fried peanuts from Portsmouth!
Then at L3 someone (JRTMOM?) came up with tasting cups. Sneake had beer sleeves (which appeared at Harborfest this year). And more--great times among all us cousins and the Mutual Admiration Society.
I will be thinking of y'all and drinking with y'all in absentia.

I can't wait to meet everyone!! I met some friends at the beach for the last few days, friends who have never been to a festival like this, and my husband asked me when I got home today did I get on everyone's nerves talking about Lockn. I am sure I did, I know what fun lies ahead, it gives me butterflies, it's in the front of my mind and the topic of most conversations. I got all excited about Phil, and one of the girls asked "who is that?" Sheeesh We will bring some of our fave local beers to share at the meet up. Beer exchange idea is brilliant!
